Jay has also another reason to disappoint his family, he is gay. He became an Hell Cop, a special unit to fight the renegade demons. He can't touch a human since he leaves deeply burns, and so he "banished" himself from his family. Jay Yervant is one of those special men, but his powers brought more pain than anything else to him. There are some big families of sorcerers, they are like the new aristocracy, and every sorcerer have some special powers, who more, who less. Actually demons seem to have replace human in the most common jobs, and they are at the command of special men, the sorcerers.

In a futuristic world, the type I tagged Apocalypse Now, people live side by side with demons. I loved his narration of the Wolfsong series, but I've listened to that series so many times I was afraid his voice would be spoiled for me narrating anything else. And he also sometimes does what I named "the rolercoaster" where he starts a sentence low, gets higher and higher until it seems like he ran out of air, and then just drops his voice for the final part. Has the unfortunate habit of chopping up sentences like there's.a.word, kind of like Jeff Bridges does lately in his movies. Red Sands by Nicole Kimberling, narrated by John SoloĪgain, love the story, the narrator is kind of irritating. I loved the story, but the narrator sounded kind of like he was bored, or like a talking head. Next of Kin by Astrid Amara, narrated by Tristan James This review is about the audio narration. I love this anthology and my rating for the ebook edition is 5 stars.
